I cound a motor...$1,100USD! JUMPIN' JIMINI! almost the price of a used savage(albiet a really ragged out one) Just found a head with good valves for $350USD ouch! talking to the guys in various salvage/breaker yards it seems the two biggest killers of savages are either A)crash or B) cam bearing failure (galling) due to lack of oil. This is probablly caused by either low oil or failure of the oil pump. So kiddies I know for 99% of the rideing world the Savage is a starter BUT dmanit! you calways check the oil before you roll! In my case it was not that but a dropped valve that killed me.
